Welcome to UYDEL
Uganda Youth Development link is a non-profit making Organization that was founded by a group of professionals in 1993. It is fully registered by the NGO board of Ministry of Internal Affairs with registration No. S 5914/ 1168.
UYDEL programs focus on HIV/AIDS Prevention, care and support to Orphans and Vulnerable Children; Alcohol and drug abuse prevention, and advocacy; Child Rights Protection; Prevention and rehabilitation of children engaged in child labour; and Adolescent Reproductive Health in the districts of Kampala, Wakiso, Mukono and Kalangala.
Objectives
- To engage in activities geared towards prevention and reduction of drug abuse, child abuse STDs/HIV/AIDS and promotion of reproductive health of young people.
- To engage in research initiatives, collect and disseminate information pertinent to issues that affect children.
- To campaign against child sexual abuse and all forms of exploitation among hard- to-reach young people.
- To equip disadvantaged young people with life planning skills as well as livelihood vocational skills.
Target
Youth aged 10-30 years who are vulnerable to exploitation and consequently to HIV/AIDS specifically:
• Children commercially sexually exploited, victims of trafficking and other worst forms of child labour
• Slum youth
• Street children
• Youth from poor families
